FREESTYLE!
FREESTYLE ORDER:
1) Inferno
2) Screamin' Demon
3) Eradicator
4) Black Stallion
5) Sudden Impact
6) Grave Digger
INFERNO
Kathy Winston was the first to go out from freestyle. She was one of the "hometown favorites" being from North Benton, OH, which is between Akron and Youngstown. As I have said before, this was Kathy's first time at a show and she was a little timid towards doing anything too risky, she just made a few passes over the cars.
SCREAMIN' DEMON
Gary Bauer was another Ohio boy being from Vienna. I think Bauer is one of the most underrated drivers on the circuit. He's a seasoned veteran, who's also driven the Lon Ranger and Nitemare II. Gary gave a good solid freestyle getting lots of air, and he was also the first to attack the Econoline sacrificed to the monster truck gods. Overall a good, solid run. (NOTE- a few of the pictures didn't come out too well so I only have a few of his freestyle.)
ERADICATOR
Andy Slifko brought out his brand new Dodge Durango Eradicator from Pennsylvania. After making it to the racing finals, he had a great chance to show more of what he has, although he broke something after only making a couple passes. The couple passes he made were awesome and he got great air off of the van pyramid.
BLACK STALLION
"Madman" Mike Vaters journeyed west from Hagerstown, MD to compete for the weekend with his brand new F-150 sporting a 20th Anniversery paint scheme. All I can say is WOW. Vaters is the greatest freestyler I've seen and he knows how to use every inch of the coarse to give the fans an awesome show, and what do you know, he doesn't roll too often. Vaters got some great air, as well as going over the van backwards. He also was able to get a good sky wheelie going in the relatively small quarters of the Gund Arena. The judges, to my surprise and pleasure, gave the Madman a perfect 30. Mike Vaters is truly a freestyle artist and after his WF3 performance, he will get some TV time and truly blow us away.
SUDDEN IMPACT
John Seasock also came out of Pennsylvania to compete this weekend with a brand new truck, only to roll it at one of the shows the next day. So indulge these pictures, as these are one of the only ones with Sudden Impact's lower bumper! John had a good, solid performance which included several good jumps over the cars, and some nice wheelies over the van. John finished the show with his trademark climbing onto the roof as the truck rolled to a stop. Overall, a great freestyle.
GRAVE DIGGER
Scott Pointbrandt was piloting the legendary Grave Digger this weekend. He was able to get some pretty good air over the sets of cars and was also able to get some good wheelies over the van. A good performance, but was not good enough to beat out Vater's Black Stallion. It was nice to see Digger loose after getting a very unfair advantage in racing.
